Nestled against a backdrop of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Cosby area enjoys a moderate climate throughout the year. Spring weather may bring snow fall on any given day, especially at the higher elevations and usually by mid-to-late April, the weather is milder. Summer temperatures can be quite warm during the day, but evenings are often cooler while most precipitation occurs as afternoon thundershowers. Fall brings a pattern of warm, sunny days and crisp, clear nights. However, cool, rainy days also occur and dustings of snow may fall at the higher elevations. In the winter, days can be sunny and 70� F or snowy with highs in the 20�s.
